Plaster repair on wall

by DIY-mikey » Wed Nov 14, 2007 1:14 pm

I'm re-tiling a kitchen wall - when I took off the old tiles it took away some of the old plaster back to the brick - over an area about 1 metre by 0.5 metre. I've bought Polycell Plaster Repair to replaster the area (about 30mm depht). Is this adequate for the job and any tips on doing it as not used this stuff before? I intend to re-tile over the area after. Or should I do it with actual plaster?

hi DIY-mikey,
Glad to hear your still hard at it!
Never used poly plaster patch before, but i am guessing that you'd be better of with a browning scratch coat and a couple of coats of skim, the 30mm depth is a bit too deep just to be considering a one coat patching compound.
Kind Regards
