Plastering Issue - DIY or get a Pro?

by Mr197003 » Tue Nov 12, 2019 8:40 pm

Hi

We have a plastering issue and would welcome any advice.

When we moved into our house (1900ish stone built semi) there was damp in the attic conversion hall. We have finally (!) conquered it with chimney work and dehumidifying and now need to fix the plaster.

I’m ok with light plastering but the hall is pretty serious - you’ll see from the picture that we’ve had to hack back to the laths in getting rid of the damp damaged plaster.

Is this a job for a pro, or where would we start on DIY?

Many thanks in advance!
