Plastering Over Acrylic Tiling Primer

by Atom_Smasher » Mon Jan 08, 2018 11:03 am

I recently removed some wall tiles in my kitchen with the intention of putting new ones up. I painted on an acrylic primer (BAL) but i've realised the wall is a little out of even in places (had stupidly assumed it was straight).

I'd like to straighten it up with some fresh plaster but i'm not sure about the impact of the primer. Am I better off scratching it off?

Thanks in advance.

I've experienced the same thing with my bathroom walls. I've tried to remove and polish the surface to make a new plaster work, but it turned to be that I did more damage to it than it was. I had to call a pro, who explained to me later that there is a specific type of plaster that works perfectly with acrylic tiles, and the weight of the tiles is also very important.
