I am fitting a new toilet bowl but the location holes are on the side of the bowl instead of at the base. How do I fit this?

brackets should have come with the toilet that screw down to the floor. your toilet pan then sits over these. the screw goes through the side of the pan into the bracket.

if it didnt come with any brackets, a piece of wood is just as good
