Plywood doors?

by vmvseoa » Wed Apr 08, 2009 4:33 pm

I am planning on building a games room in my garden and was wondering if i could make a set of double doors out of plywood. I was thinking of gluing four sheets of ply together to end up with 1.5-2 inch thick doors, whacking in some glass, and routing the inside and outside to look like they are made traditionally (rails stiles etc), then staining them. Anyone got any suggestions on this? Would it work? Is ply suitable for making external doors?

Not being funny but after yoi've done all that, takining into account time and material costs it would probably be cheaper to fit some ready made doors.

Not at all sure about routing plywood either. It could end up being a very messy result.

Cheers
