Hanging a Heavy 40KG Mirror to a Stud Wall - What Fixings to use?

by iwearahalo2 » Mon Jul 27, 2015 1:51 pm

HI There, I am hanging a mirror to a stud wall and have found the stud for one side, the other fixing is in between the studs and as the mirror weighs 40kg with frame I'm wondering can this actually be hung safely? What fixing can I use as a screw has to be out for the mirror to be hung so I assuming that discounts snap toggles and spring toggles as they and the fixing/bracket have to be flush to work, nylon and metal screw in plugs are the only thing I can think of but not sure at all whether they'll be strong enough, any ideas? Many Thanks

Have a look at gripitfixings.co.uk , they have a good range of cavity fixings that'll carry around 90kg per fixing.
