Advice on Furnishing a Tiny one Bed Cottage

by Edina1 » Thu Sep 03, 2015 12:26 pm

I'm moving from a large 3 bed to a TINY one bed cottage, just a small combined kitchen/lounge, I have no idea how to furnish it, it has plain walls and hardwood flooring, any ideas please?

Here are some tips for furnishing a tiny bed cottage-
- Frame your bed with custom cubbies, forming in the process a headboard in reverse.
- Paint a small bedroom in a cheerful hue to make an impact.
- Keeping walls and linens white makes a small space look bigger and airier.
- Use furniture, like this console, to divide a bedroom into sleeping space and lounging space.
- Trundle beds work well for older kids and help maximize a small space.

Hi,

Have you considered a specially designed bed? There's ranges called 'space savers'. These are designed to fit into areas where space is minimal. They work because the mattress sits on top of the frame, rather than within. This results in a smaller footprint.

They can be found in various places around the web. This went in our guest room where we were short on space.
