Solutions for Moving Heavy German Built Sofa

by Kate48 » Mon Jun 08, 2015 8:14 am

Hi. we have a very large, very heavy German built sofa.
It has recliner seats either end and we love it but it is too heavy for us to move now we are getting older and I cannot clean behind it.
I wondered if a frame could be built and wheels put on said frame to enable us to move it.
We tried those pad things that help you slide stuff and the sofa just flattened them.
If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful as I do not want to get rid of it.
Thank you.

What's the surface that it is moving across? If it soft, like carpet, it's going to be hard to move.

Perhaps you could find a strapping, friendly neighbour that could help with the spring cleaning in exchange for a home cooked meal?!

Better get a handyman to build something with wheels. Don't risk your spine for nothing.
