Recently Layed Oak Flooring now Starting to Rise and Buckle

by Olliefrs » Wed Nov 04, 2015 2:45 pm

Hi
I layed a oak floor last winter
Everything went fine, there used to be a parkay floor stuck on to bitumen
I removed the wood leaveing the bitumen in place then self leveled over the top
Then layed foil back underlay then the floor
Now 2 weeks ago in a matter of days 1 strip in the lounge door way has tented!!
I really can't see it being moisture
Could the fact we have no heating in the house, due to building works be causing it to buckle?
Any help appreciated

did you leave an expansion gap around the perimeter of the floor, that is usually the course of lifting

Yes I did
It is though a door threshold
From the hall to the lounge
I am currently stopping it with some concrete blocks
Am I OK to do this? I am also getting some heat in to the house to see if it helps
