Switched Water on and Constant Flow Coming from Overflow Pipe with Water Tank Empty All aspects of plumbing questions and answers, help, tips and information

Hi,

I've just moved into a repossessed house and have just switched the water on. As soon as I did this water is flowing constantly out the overflow pipe.

I've been up to the loft where the tank is empty and water is filling into the tank though it just seems to be coming straight back out the overflow, and the water tank drains down.

Sure there must be a simple fix. Any advice would be most welcome.

Where does the over flow enter your tank?

It sounds like at the bottom for it to overflow before it fills up?
