Hello,
I've built a hide away for a fridge to sit under and also acts as a breakfast bar in my kitchen out of common bricks. I tried to fit a solid wooden worktop to it today using brackets screws and brown rawl plugs but ended up cracking the mortar and the bricks on the top course I was attempting to fix to.
I'm now going to have to relay the bricks and wait for them to set but don't have any idea how I'm going to fix the worktop to them now.
I was thinking of using smaller screws and plugs and a bracket that will reach down to the second course of bricks but still worried the mortar or bricks will crack.
I can't seem to find anything online of this type of job before and really could do with some advice.
I've attached a photo which will help give you an idea of the Job at hand.
