Unequal Wall Height for Tiling Wall Around Bathtub

by sandineyes » Sun Jan 17, 2016 11:35 pm

I am going to tile the walls around my bathtub. The difficulty is that I have an unequal height from the top of the tub to the ceiling, some 3/4 in difference over the 5ft length of the tub.I was thinking to lose this 3/4 in by having a slight taper in the spacing between the tiles. If this seems feasible how would I make up a spacer. Any better suggestions much appreciated.I have not bought the tiles yet.

Hi

We have quite a bit of content on tiling and how to tile correctly, especially where uneven edges and joins occur. Essentially what you have to do is mark out positions for whole tiles across the whole of the wall and then cut in the uneven areas with cut tiles around teh edges. We have some videos explaining this process here:

Hope this helps!
