Adding More Insulation to Cavity Gap Around Window

by mikegc » Wed Feb 03, 2016 9:39 am

Hi,

I am currently doing our bathroom. I have had to take off the window sill which has revealed a thin 25mm of insulation in the cavity in some areas (I am quite surprised there was any!).

I was going to add some more where I can, there is cement sticking out the wall so I can't get much in. I was also going to use foam around the window frame as there is none, and I can feel a draught coming through.

Is there anything I can do to make it better? What would you do?

Thank you!

Hi.

You could perhaps look at a single extrusion cavity closer. this would help with your thermal bridging.
