Replacing Panels With Taller Ones but Existing Posts too Short?

by yartin » Sun Mar 27, 2016 6:09 pm

This is my first post here.

10 of my garden fence panels are tired and need replacement and now it's the best time. The existing panels are 6X4 but I want for privacy to install 6X5. The existing posts are only 15cm taller than the fences.
My question is would it look silly if I install the 6X5s panels? As roughly will be 15cm taller than the posts and there would be visible gaps between panels.
OR: Is it worth the extra expense and extend the posts which would involve to buy few posts to cut to size and also buy Post Extender Wedge Grip/brackets?

The existing wooden posts are 75cmX75cm screwed onto concrete shorter posts.
It's too much hassle and expense to replace all posts.
I am looking for a cheap solution.

Many thanks
