I want to add a lean-to extension to my terrace house and use my boundary fence as the outer wall as there is very little space and this will provide an extra six inches or so. My neighbour has his lean-to right up against the fence, so leaving the fence intact and having three structures adjoining would be cumbersome. Is it OK to replace my fence with the outer wall of the lean-to, if the neighbour agrees to this? All the posts are on my side of the wall.
