How Best to Replace This Type of Garage Lock?

by AndyC68 » Wed May 25, 2016 5:10 pm

We have the type of garage lock housing shown in these images. I've lost the key, so would like to know:

- Can I open up the housing to access the cylinder? If so, how?

- If accessing the cylinder is not possible, or is very difficult, I'd rather just buy the whole housing, complete with new lock (it looks straightforward to install). However despite much searching online I haven't found an example of this type of housing. Can anyone tell me what it is called and if it is still available?

- My third option would be to but an entirely new lock housing of a different type, if it's easier to obtain. Which other housings are compatible, with respect to attachment to the door and to the opening rods?
