I am re-decorating a bedroom and painting the walls in white emulsion over cream. Lining paper is already on all the walls. On covering over a deep blue stripe the paint is cracking like crazy paving when it is drying. The rest of the walls are drying fine - just this one area. Anyone any ideas why and how to sort this

I had a similar problem over the weekend. The problem could be a number of things.
Did you clean or sand the wall/stripe before painting? The other thing could be not allowing time for the paint to dry between coats and also applying too much paint or not enough. Furthermore you may have to allow more time for paint to dry due to the weather. I would sand down the cracks and then clean off any dust and allow to dry and then re paint with an even amount of paint on your roller and allow time to dry before next coat.
