Hi,
I'm in the process of having a loft conversion performed on my small 1st floor flat in a Victorian terrace house in London. To give you an idea of the size of the flat, it's a 2-bed with an area about 55 m^2.
Our builder has recommended that we replace the insulation with a breathable membrane to prevent condensation in the future. We've been quoted £2500 for this including parts + labour. They've said it's not an absolute necessity but they recommend it. My questions are, is this necessary, and does this seem like a reasonable cost?
Thanks very much for any advice!
Luke
