Pizza Oven Weight of Structure Concerns

by fredkite » Sun Aug 14, 2016 9:46 am

Hello,
My first post.
Nearing completion on my sixth brick project (retired photographer) the weight is causing a little concern :
The granite base is around 100 KG, the 150 firebricks are around 540 KG (3.75 kg each) the mosaic tiles will be around 84 KG plus fibre board, heat-resistant cement screed, tile adhesive and grout all top up to about 900-1100 KG (one metric ton)
The supportiong brickwork is English bond built onto a 10 inch thick concrete base with 12mm rebar and mesh reinforcing, and its been standing for two months with no sign of cranks.
What does everyone think about the weight issues ?
