I have bought a property which has had it's chimney stack completely removed from the roof up. The ground floor fireplace has been completely blocked over with no ventilation. Upstairs has it's fire place, however I don't know if it is blocked. I only own the ground floor.
There is a very slight elevated damp reading. There are no obvious signs of damp. I do not own the top floor.
Will creating a hole and fitting an air vent be sufficient to create ventilation and prevent damp, or should I really be exploring what is going on in the loft and roof below where the stack has been removed?
Thanks
