Walls Offset and Door Frame When Laying Laminate Flooring

by Colobos » Thu Sep 08, 2016 5:51 pm

Hi,

I was starting to lay laminate floor and noticed the walls either side of the door are offset from each other.

This creates an issue as you can see in the picture as the laminate floor and eventually tiles on the other side will not be straight when meeting at the door threshold.

Any way I can correct this without having to knock a wall down and rebuild it?

I was thinking of removing the door frame and making the left side shorter to make it appear straight and at least the door bar would be straight.

lay the laminate floor with the lengths going through the door rather than straight across the door. this will disguise it.
