Hi All,
We recently bought our first house which has a cold water tank in the loft, and a (fairly old) Worcester boiler which has no water temperature control (I've read on other forums that the 28i is set to 55 degrees with no option to change it.)
We've fitted a thermostatic shower thinking that the pressure coming from the cold water tank would be enough to give us a decent shower until we can upgrade the whole system (funds are pretty tight for the time being) but as the water temperature from the boiler is so high, the thermostatic valve is slowing down the flow so much that the boiler will stop providing hot water after about 5 minutes.
I'd like to either upgrade the cold water system to mains pressure, or get a new boiler which has a temperature control, but I think these are both outside our budget limitations for the time being.
Can I fit a booster pump to the cold water feed of the shower for the time being to compensate for the difference in pressures?
Thanks in advance,
Fraser
