Calling all builders...

by rugkb » Mon Aug 20, 2007 10:30 am

I'm having trouble getting any builders out to replace my downstairs wooden floors with concrete. Builders are too busy round here & I'm not confident to tackle this myself!

Currently the wooden floors are sitting too close to the earth and are soaking up water. The house is an outer shell of stone with wooden stud internal walls, so the lower sections of these will also need replacing once the new floor is laid.

Job is basically: Remove floors, support internal walls and stairs where necessary, dig soil down, put in gravel, sand, damp-proof membrane, polystyrene insulation, concrete, repair walls/stairs as necessary.

ANY BUILDERS WILLING TO COME UP (or down -though less likely) TO NORTH ABERDEENSHIRE TO GET THIS JOB DONE BEFORE THE WINTER????

Cheers

Go to our locate a specialist section and look at the pages in there. If no-one is in your postcode, contact Trust a Trader for some names of reliable builders in your area.

Hi Doc
Yes I've gone through all that, even rang all the builders in the yellow pages - probelm is earliest I could be fitted in was October 2008!

Builders are so busy round here even the bad ones are booked up a year in advance, the good ones 3 years +

So I'm looking to see if anyone would be willing to travel in from somewhere else :?
