I am endeavouring to wall mount a TV.
The wall is plasterboard on metal studs 24 inches apart.
The TV weighs just over 20kg.
I would like to fix the wall mount bracket to the metal studs with something secure like spring toggle bolts - however .......
Is it ok to drill a 10mm holes in the narrow edge of the stud or will that affect the structural integrity of the wall?
Is there anything easier and less bulky than spring toggles which will do the job - would hollow wall anchors be ok? I'd still need a decent sized hole in the stud.
I'd rather not remove sections of plasterboard and reinforce the stud with wood as I'd make a mess and mire myself in disaster.
I'd also rather not attach a section of plywood to the wall, as I'd like the TV to be pretty flush to the wall.
Looking for any advice from people/professionals who have done this before.
