Stones in Borders Around Garden and Membrane

by JordanK » Sun May 22, 2016 10:43 pm

Good evening people,

I have decided to bite the bullet and sort my garden out. I currently have borders around my lawn which have become over run by weeds and grass and whatever else feels like growing. I want to put stone down in my borders now, so i understand im going to have to dig my borders out to rid it of all the weeds etc, but what membrane would you recommend to go under the stone? Ive been advised that visqueen will cause pooling and wont drain properly. Also how would you recommend i put it down?

Thanks

I think you can use visqueen as weed barrier. But before that you can follow those steps:
* Remove any plants or weeds growing where the weed barrier will be placed.
* Cut the weed barrier in pieces to fit your space and place the weed barrier on the ground.
* Cover the weed barrier with mulch or stone

Happy gardening.
