Is there NO damp proof course here?

by gillz » Sun Aug 12, 2007 6:37 pm

We've bought a house that is, frankly speaking, in a bit of a state.
Poor DIY mostly.
There has been an extension added to the front, the front wall is extended by some three paces.

There's no shingle or gravel near the wallls....in fact it was laid to lawn right up to the wall till yesterday.
As I type Beloved Hubby is faithfully digging out the soil from right in front of the house...
...and we cannot see a damp proof course.

We know what one should look like and it ain't there.
Is there ANY way that there could be one there?

And could we have ideas on how to procede now?

Grateful thanks
gillz

Take a look at any one of our damp projects and ring the phone number for Property Repair Systems. They give free, no obligation advice and we recommend them. They will tell you what you need to do (if anything) and will also be able to supply you with anything you need to do it with but will certainly not try to sell you anything you don't need.
