Mortar Mix Info Required Please for Waterproofing Septic Tank

by PaulC1976 » Wed Apr 19, 2017 6:39 pm

Hi. Brand new to forum so hope I have posted in the right place!!

I have a leaking, brick septic tank. It's old and over the years the pointing has failed leading to water seeping through.

Firstly I'll say this is a patch job to get us through a couple of years until we can afford a shiny plastic one

The tank will be emptied prior to work and for understandable reasons I am only prepared to point the outside!

I have a mortar waterproofed but just wanted advice on the cement mix to use with it please. I know that normally you would use lime mortar for breatheability but for obvious reasons this is not appropriate.

All and any help / advice needed would be great. Thanks.
