Hello, we're converting an outbuilding in our garden for an elderly relative. We are pleased with the reclaimed roof slates but not with the look of how the new ridge/hip tiles have been mortared in terms of colour and thickness of joints. We are now constantly looking at other restorations and new-builds and all appear really neatly set and blended by comparison! We'd be grateful for any views from more expert eyes on what might be done to remedy the "zebra crossing" effect. Anyone had success with mortar paint or weathering tint? Thank you.
