WHAT TYPE of PLASTERBOARD to USE?

by RWW » Sat Aug 18, 2007 4:42 pm

Because of a leak, I have removed all the damaged plasterboard from the bedroom ceiling. I now plan to re-board it and then get it skimmed by a professional. Wicks the Builders Merchant offers four types:

Baseboard
Wallboard
Tapered Edge
Squared Edge

Please can you tell me which type to use?

I would rather like to avoid the 4x8 size sheets if possible.

Thanks

Hi rww,
i'd always prefer to use 8x4's just because there's less joints, but you can use 6x3's or 4x3's. If your having ceiling skimmed square edge boards are ideal. Remember when screwing boards up, try to space screws out about every six inch. Hope this was helpful
Good Luck
