Is myNewly Installed Towel Rail Compliant? Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

Hi

I am looking to get confirmation of whether the towel rail installed in my new bathroom is compliant or do i need to get it changed?

The towel warmer has a switch installed at the bottom left hand corner about 15cm from the floor. the switch looks like a light switch with a red light above it when turned on.

the bathroom is an ensuite (small) and the towel rail is opposite the shower about 1m away.

Before the refurb, this switch was in the hallway. As I had underfloor heating added, this switch now turns on both the underfloor heating and the towel rail.
The underfloor heating has a control panel inside the bathroom by the door to turn it on/off.

is it ok to have the switch for the towel inside the bathroom and close to the floor?

Any comments will be appreciated. I am trying to get some refurb finished before selling the flat.

Is the shower cubicle enclosed all sides? (so no open walls on shower)
Also is the circuit RCD protected?
Circuits entering the bathroom require RCD protection, as does UFH.

Yes the shower cubicle is enclosed (walls on 3 sides & a glass shower door)

I don't know if the circuit is RCD protected - how can I tell?
I think they are on the same circuit as there is a fused switch in the hallway that turns on/off both the UFH and the towel rail.
The UFH has a control panel inside the bathroom to allow a timer to be set
and the towel rail has a second fused switch inside the bathroom to tur it on/off.

RCD protection can be achieved a number of ways. Normally a device is installed inside the consumer unit, could be a RCBO or a RCCB or fused connection with RCD Incorporated,
