Damaged 15mm Copper Heating Pipe

by Dykedweller » Sun Nov 05, 2017 5:52 pm

Hi
I removed a section of chipboard flooring in my first floor bathroom in order to access some pipework. I have managed to score the top of a 15mm copper heating pipe and whilst it is not leaking I am not prepared to leave it in this condition.

I have made a similar cut in an offcut of pipe and can see a mark on the inside where the cut is so very thin at that point.

I am aware that the correct method is to cut out the damaged area and insert a coupler. The problems in doing this are two fold. Firstly I can't get a pipe cutter between the pipes and secondly it look as if with both ends of the pipe restricted that I will be unable to get a coupler in.

I consider myself a bit unlucky that this has happened but extremely lucky that it wasn't a 'fag paper deeper' as then I would have been in the proverbial.

Does anyone know if there are any wonder solutions on the market that I could use to get over the problem

Any advice would be very much appreciated.
