Joining plastic and iron waste pipes

by patterman » Sat Aug 25, 2007 7:27 am

I want to put a new toilet in but I have got to join the plastic waste pipe to an existing iron soil stack. How can I do this?

Its possible with a lot of hard work to cut the cast with a grineder and then grind the paint off. When this is done you can buy slip couplings from a decent plumbers merchants which will fit. It is considerable easier, in our opinion anyway, to remove the cast iron completely and replace with plastic. We are publishing a prohject on how to do this on Tuesday of next week so stay tuned to see how its done.
