How to Fix Loss of Polybead Insulation During Renovation

by 64632 » Wed Nov 22, 2017 4:41 pm

Hi folks

I hope that someone on here can help.
We have a 3 bed semi detached property, built sometime in maybe the 50/60’s. It has polybead insulation in the cavity wall.
There is an iron plate at the back of the property which opens up.
We renovated the property and lost a considerable amount off the insulation in the back wall. It is now only up to the level of the top of the ground floor. The iron plate is also loose and hanging off and more beads are escaping through this hole.

We have contacted many companies who have come out to do a survey and state they cannot help with the insulation as it’s pumped in via the ground floor and therefore it would not work. It’s very cold in the back room upstairs and a very cold draft.

Does anyone know how we can resolve this problem and the issue with this little iron plate?

Thanks in advance

Ani
