Mixer Shower not Getting Hot but gets Luke Warm When Toilet Flushed

by Ssnow66431 » Sun Dec 17, 2017 1:50 pm

Hi all.

Just moved into a new house which has a mixer shower however we only get cold water. We can get Luke warm water if we flush the toilet at the same time.

A friend has told me the shower water feed is the wrong way round. I have included a pic.

Any help would be appreciated

It sounds as though you have the cold feed to the shower from the mains and the hot feed from a tank. When you flush the toilet you reduce the mains pressure which is then closer to the hot (tank) feed pressure. Both hot and cold feed should originate from a tank to be at the same pressure. Guessing a bit but I hope it helps.

It's a combi boiler.
