Hi I hope you can help....
In june last year I moved to a slightly run down dorma bungalow.
As part of the survey it identified the boiler as needing urgent replacement as it was a floor standing unit manufactured in the early 90's.
I have a good plumber and I arranged to have the boiler replaced for a Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 630 System Boiler and a large high pressure tank to be put in the loft space to feed three bathrooms and the heating system. (This was in the summer)
As winter broke I got quite the nasty shock to realize that even if the boiler was 'on' all day the temperature doesn't really get above 18, I called my pumbler who explained in was a single pipe system and it would take longer to heat up.
Since this I have replaced every radiator in the house and several adjustments - resulting in very little change TBH.
I might be wrong and system isnt capable of producing enough heating but it does seem to have ample radiators and I cant really understand that even though the radiators get hot ish after three hours its does seem enough.
I think a two pipe system would involve a lot more mess and would it up the heat output of the radiators?
I do feel like I've bough a Ferrari with pram wheels.
Hope someone can suggest something.
Thanks LEE
