Butting Fence Panels to end of Wall, Would a Post be Needed?

by jonroper » Mon Feb 19, 2018 10:21 am

Hi there

Just about to build a new new, using trellis panels and concreted in spikes for wooden fence posts. Simple question - the end of the fencing run will butt up to the end of a parallel length of wall (which is in good condition and taller than the fence panel). Do I need to mount a fence post to the wall then hold the panel to the post with fence clips, or can I just attach the fence clips directly to the wall and slot the panel in? I dont see what the fence post would do that the wall doesnt...

I notice my neighbours have a post mounted the wall but I just cant see why its needed...

Cheers
J
