Vapour Barrier In Addition To Cavity Wall Insulation?

by NorthumberlandDave » Fri Mar 02, 2018 2:14 pm

Hi,
I have a very cold bathroom in a 1930's house. It has previously had cavity wall insulation added. I'm also about to have a fan installed to improve ventilation. I've already stripped old tiles and plaster off the walls and I'm back to brick. I intend to use wooden batons and moisture resistant plasterboard followed by a plaster skim but I'm wondering whether I should or shouldn't install a vapour barrier? I can't seem to determine whether this would assist the existing cavity wall insulation or if it would cause more harm. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dave
