Hi there, I got Hotpoint AQC9 4F7 EM1(UK) dryer and last week I had to replace belt because it was in bits after that my tension pulley nearly set in fire so I bought new one, after replacing I have started my dryer and 20 minutes later the same thing has happen, new tension pulley melt it down. Can you please tell me where the problem is??, the tumble dryer is only 2 years old. Please see the pictures attached. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Are the drum bearings good on the dryer?

Do you have the part numbers to hand that you fitted to the dryer and i can check to see if they were correct.

Can you give me the 'serial number' and 'industrial code' off the dryer and i will see what i can find out for you.

Hi John,

I have bought the parts (belt and Tension pulley) from Espares and the parts do not have any Serial numbers but I hope they sold me the right parts, surely they know the job lol. Bearings do not make any noise so I am presuming they are ok. I'm just wondered if Hotpoint should be fixing my dryer for free?? in my opinion the tension pulley should have bearings then there would be no problems with it..

Model: AQC94F7EM1(UK)
Ind Code: 95784975500
Serial No: 509114057

Hi,

Yes it would be better if the tensioner pulley ' Jockey wheel' was better made with good bearings, but then things would not break down so often!!!

Can you remember if the parts came in genuine Hotpoint packets as the part numbers should have been on those?

Is the dryer currently working ok?

Hi Arthur,

Here are the parts that should be correct for use in your Hotpoint AQC94F7EM1(UK) tumble dryer.

The belt check the size of your belt matches the size given on the product page https://www.dpdomesticspares.com/belt-f ... 03064.html

Pulley wheel is for the BPM motor which i believe is fitted to your machine, replacing both at the same time is advisable product can be found on this page https://www.dpdomesticspares.com/hotpoi ... 97219.html

Hope this helps you.

All the best John,
