Unable to remove shower glass frame from wet room

by Bootlegger » Tue Mar 20, 2018 12:16 am

Got a problem with something that should be simple. I am trying to remove a floor glass partition in a wet room. I do not know manufacturer or model.it appeared to be locked by three screws which have bern removed. The support bracket against the wall is well secured. The glass has a frame that seems to slide over the support bracket. The weight of the glass is supported by the ground (or pkinth in this case). I can not seem to remove the glass from the wall support. Seems somehow still connected at the midpoint of the frame. I have a glass sucker/floor tile lifter to assist thinking maybe it needs to be lifted upwards to unhook or something but again no movement. I have removed the supporting plinth underneath the glass frame (as needed rebuilding) and now glass is hovering in mid air supported only by the frame. Still will not budge or drop even with a 3 inch gap below it! I am at a loss in how to remove it. Short of rocking it back and forth to try to break screws holding frame against wall and chance smashing the whole thing, or the supporting tiles, i dont know what else to try. Looking down the supporting frame channel i can see straight through to the tiles below and can see nothing inside that may be holding on to it. Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated. Regards jason
