How to Secure Door Handle to Door That Keeps Coming off Post your questions and get answers concerning many areas of this subject

I have a door handle that has twice broken off the door.

Where there handle has been pulled the screws have come loose and broken parts of the door where the screws were in place.

Now I can't secure the handle on the door as there's just a big hole where the screws were.

Can anyone off any help on how to fix the handle on the door now there's nowhere to secure the screws to the door?

Is the door a light hollow core door? It looks as though the handles have been fitted where there is no lock block in the door or the door has been hung the wrong way round with the lock block at the hinge side. Not an easy fix but one way would be to cut a section of the door edge out leaving the ply face intact and glue a lock block in place then re fit the latch/lock.
