I am having a kitchen refit so new sink and taps. Water supply is direct - no tank. The mains water pressure at 3 bar is fine. But the flow rate is only 3 litres per minute due to old pipework from the mains and shared water supply.
Does this mean I need special low pressure taps? All I need is a tap that will work. The special taps I've seen refer to water pressure and since my problem is one of flow rate, I don't know how the figures translate.

The water company checked the pressure from the mains in the road and the pressure is fine at 3 bar. The low water flow is due to the pipework supplying my property being the old steel type which clogs up over time. Plus I am on a shared water supply with my neighbour - which is quite common in this rural area.
The only way to fix this is to replace the entire run of pipe with modern pipe - which at the same time would also give me my own supply. As the householder I would have to stand the cost of the pipework across my land and reconnection at the house itself.
Anyhow tap problem sorted for now. Found some which operate down to .1bar/low flow.
