Can I Knock Down Breeze Block Wall to Open up Rooms? All manner of questions and solutions to problems and issues surrounding the subject of brickwork, blockwork and stonework

hi, the extension on my house was built in the 70/80s. there are breeze block walls dividing the rooms up downstairs these walls do not continue up stairs they are all plaster board.

i want to knock one of these walls down to open the room up. I have removed part of the ceiling and have noticed between the beams and the breeze blocks is plaster board. this made me think that the wall had been built after the completion of the house.

Not sure how well i have explained all this, i have photos which will hopefully do it a bit better.

Are there any joists sitting on the wall? If not it is probably not load bearing.

hi i have attached an image. You can see the joists run over the wall but the is plaster board in between the wall and joist

The ceiling was tacked and then the wall built under it, so the joists are spanning over it. It may or may not be helping take some of the bounce out of the floor, it depends on the depth of the joist.
