Hi. I've just joined this forum to ask about a problem with my garage lighting.
My sister gave me an unused JCC ToughLED, JC71504, like this:

I installed the lamp in the roof of my garage and it was lovely and bright.

After a couple of weeks, it stopped working. I've put my meter on the output connectors of the two LED drivers; they both have no voltage.
I had wired the lamp into the same place that the outgoing fluorescent lamp was; that is, teed into the supply to a row of LED spots with a few Halogen spots that I have not yet changed to LED's.
The feed to the garage is common to all my garage equipment and tools, including a 240v air compressor.
I've contacted JCC. They were really of no help and are not able to supply replacement driver units.
1) Is there a problem with the way I've connected the lamp that may have damaged the drivers?
2) If I can get hold of suitable new drivers, are they likely to fail again?

Have you checked the input voltage to see is it present?

I would also ask what is the input voltage printed on the drivers? Some lights are made to be used on construction sites and as such require a 110v supply, not 240v supply, you may have one of these?
If the drivers have failed I see no reason why you can not buy suitable replacement drivers from elsewhere and change them.

Yes, I checked that the drivers were getting mains to them, 240v.
This is what is printed on the drivers:
Model LD56W
Input: 200-240v, 50/60Hz, 270mA
Output:1.17A, 40-50v
Lamp power 56W
Non-dimmable

I've not been able to find an exactly specced driver online. Are you able to advise where I might be able to get these?

I'm worried that even if I can get some new drivers they may suffer the same fate as the originals. Have they both failed because of something I've done: maybe having Halogen spots on the same spur, ( I will change them anyway) or even surges from my compressor?

If you are sure it says 40-50V on the power supply, I suggest you try looking for a 48v power supply, I have seen them for less than £20
