Removing Airlock in F and E System

by Diylion » Tue Oct 30, 2018 7:40 pm

Hi everyone...first timer here, mother in law arriving in 2 days and heating stopped after I changed two trvs and one lock nut connection and took a towel radiator off and capped it.

I have 3 radiators upstairs and I two downstairs....the radiator I worked on where the 2 downstairs. The towel radiator I took off was also downstairs.

I thought my pump was gone at first but took off the silver screw and it seems to be fine....even wedged it with a screw drivers for s few seconds and let it go to double check. ( not sure if I should have).

The f and e tank is filling and emptying fine...I have drained 3 times so far as I try new things. ( at least I know how it works now but realise I could be adding to the problem) Each time I bleed from downstairs to upstairs.... and then only open furthest away one downstairs to see if I can get that working on the system before I open up the rest.

I also ran the system on with a hose pipe connected to the drain valve on radiator downstairs for 10 mins.

Nothing.....

I think i have a airlock somewhere and seem to find alot of people saying it's on the cold feed probably at the t section.

I have attached a pic of my boiler situation. Red Indictating pipes that are hot to touch

I want to try and push airlock out of cold feed but don't know how to do it...I have read descriptions of doing by the main water tank in loft but have never read one I understand what to do...Can someone tell me if that's a good idea and if so how to do it.

I have tried to attach pic but not sure it loaded.

Thanks in advance everyone
