New Pitched Roof Fitted Over Doorway but Does it Look ok? Information, help and tips on many areas of roofing including trusses, tiling, venting, insulation etc....

Had a new pitched roof built above a doorway. Looking down at the new pitched roof, it looks a bit poorly jointed. Appreciate any advice over whether this looks pukka.

To me NO there should be a capping on the straight joint of slates where angles meet. What cowboy did that ?

If left and right angles then the left photo shows top capping no complete.
Were they "door knockers" cowboys looking for work or local cowboy and did you see where they parked their horse

Thanks for the advice, appreciated. I got told the slate was purely cosmetic, as it's got lead flashing underneath.

Wrong! flashing goes on top of angles and look at bottom photo bottom of angle a small pies of slate is to short they should have cut a slate to fit not shove a piece in if rain gets in soaks the timber it will rot. Why is the slate cosmetic? That's bull doo doo's. What's underneath then ? Might be established but trade there not and is your main roof slate? Some councils insist the same material is used to match main roof. You cannot effectively seal an angled roof with flashing under it. Again did you notice where their horse was parked. Take a look at some angled bays same shape, you should see capping over the angles.

You can do it this way, it is called close-peen. Usually we would put a lead strip running under the hip and then individual soakers under each course of slate.
