light fitting

by mand » Sat Sep 01, 2007 12:44 pm

hi

need some urgent help. I'm fitting 2 halogen spotlight bars (4 lights in one bar).

I fitted one fine, no problems, all working ok then moved onto the next one, finished that and turned the power back on and nothing worked, no lights. took one of the halogen bulbs out of the 1st light and replaced it (just incase) turned the power and an BANG lights tripped. SO I decided to undo the 2nd light and put the old fitting on again to see if the 1st light would work. The 1st light is still not working and now the 2nd light (with the old fitting) is on but is no longer controlled by the lightswitch on the wall.

I have a horrible feeling i have messed the wires up cos they are all back there is no colour coding.
