Fixing Blind Inside Recess and Metal Lintel Causing Problems General problems, solutions, information and advice on fixing to walls of all kinds

I have tried to fit a blind to the inside top of the recess but the plaster gave way.

There's a metal lintel, and I'm wondering whether I can try again further from the glass and avoid it.

The lintel meant I had to cut down the metal plasterboard fixings and use shorter screws.

Any advice will be hugely appreciated.
