Block and Beam Construction Causing Cold Floors?

by Theburger » Sat Feb 09, 2019 2:24 pm

Hi guys.

We have a detached house built in the late 1980’s. it is built on piles with block and beam construction. My question is, certain areas of the downstairs have very cold floors. The house has an integral garage with we are in the process of putting a brick partition in. We will also put a insulated floating floor in the main part.

I was wondering if there was anything that could be done to under insulate the floor. I am aware there is a cavity between the ground and the floor. I know we can’t just fill to cavity completely.
