White Cloudy Patches After Painting Internal Doors With Clear Varnish

by Fairford » Thu Jun 16, 2016 4:43 pm

Hi,

I painted internal pine doors with Ronseal Quick Dry Clear Varnish several years ago and some of them now have white cloudy patches/white discolouration on them.

I used white spirit to remove them. It did but they soon reappeared. I overpainted them with the varnish but the patches are still present.

How can I remove these patches?
Thanks,

Fairford

Water based varnish does leave white residue sometimes, it dries to quick, always use oil based varnish far superior
