PVC Cladding Concealing Large Hole in Bathroom Ceiling

by brightshadow » Sat Mar 09, 2019 1:46 pm

Please could I ask for advice? I had a new central heating system installed in June last year. They connected the condense pipe in the loft to a sawn off air vent pipe. The leak caused my bathroom ceiling to fall in (approx 2ft x 1ft 6 hole). After months of assistance from Trading standards and Environment centre they agreed to repair.

However, what they have done is installed PVC cladding over the whole ceiling to cover the hole. I was taken aback when I saw it as had never seen a plastic ceiling and know nothing about then, the same was echoed by the agencies supporting me. Can anyone let me know their thoughts on the efficacy of PVC cladding especially when concealing a broken ceiling above? I am a lady and know so little and can't help feeling they have conned me a cheap job done!
